Weekday is probably best (though I doubt many could make it). Any given weekend this time of the year means the routes will be buzzing with motorcycles, tourists in rentals, and of course - CHP/San Mateo Sheriff.
I was thinkin', Old Santa Cruz hwy to summit, then Old San Jose Hwy to Capitola. They aren't as busy as 9/35/84/pescadero.
ps. I ride my motorcycle up there, and wouldn't even take the 9/35 route on the weekends. Too many r3tards int he hills on the weekends.

Yeah, I would definitely avoid 4 corners at all cost. I used to run an FZR400 & '96 GSX-R 750 back in the days. Saturdays used to be relatively relaxing, and only busy on Sundays. You can run through the backroads of La Honda and would only run into locals once in a while. Not anymore. It's a zoo now.
