Reno-Fernley ~ 4.1 Mile Track!

Hey Everybody!

I hope this beautiful spring weather is treating you all well and that you are able to get out and enjoy it! We at T.E.A.M. Racing have an event at Reno-Fernley Raceway on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25. Talk about a perfect time of year to go play on the 4.1 mile track! The top is a lot like a huge autocross, while the bottom is a huge horsepower festival. Sign up for both days and you will wind up with nearly five hours of track time!!! Cost is $225 for one day, $400 for the whole weekend. As usual, the fee includes a supply of bottled water and Gatorade, healthy snacks, catered lunches, and expert instruction. The registration form is at www.onemain.com/~bonster/rfr.pdf If you have any problems accessing the form, simply email or PM me and I will send you over a copy of the form.

It may be a bit of a drive for some, but TRUST ME – it will be worth the drive! Let’s welcome this wonderful weather and reward ourselves to an outstanding weekend at the track!

I saw those plans several years ago, when it was still "hush-hush." Now that they have gone public with it, I hope it means they will get going on all those projects. They will be starting construction next week to get bathrooms with running water put in. Woohoo! No more porta-potties!

Have they put in gas pumps yet?

Last time I was there they had to hand pump the go juice. It was either that or drive back into town past the onslaught of local PD.

The new plans look very promising!

The new track is AWESOME, and when the rest of the facilities are put into place it'll blow your pants off. Anyone that can make this track day should.

Mike, have you been there since they opened up the hill portion?

I just put in a call to the track (today at 11:16 AM). Believe it or not, the lady in the office did not know if the gas was manual or fed pump. She said she will find out and get back to me. My guess is she's gonna drive down to the road course paddock and check. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Last time I was there was before you bought your Camry, so that should tell you something.

I have fond memories of cording my Pilot Sport Cups on that track.

Yeah, I didn't think you had been up. I think that was almost 4 years ago now, damn. The pavement is pretty good. They finally figured out how to pave the surface that could survive the high desert winters, so there shouldn't be any more buckling. The surface, especially in the new hilly parts, is great.

And yeah, I remember taking that pic from the front straight flagging station.
