review of our game yesterday.. got my nickname cuz i was hella lagging joggin to home plate when I almost got thrown out hahahhahah
All,
Yesterday, in San Francisco's beautiful Sunset District, the Victorious Inseyt Thunder Panthers clawed their way to their fourth victory of the season, defeating Cooper White, 19-4.
Plagued by a rash of injuries and arbitrations, a depleted yet unbowed Thunder Panther team scratched out 19 runs and played terrific defense to earn their second win in a row and fourth in five games. Playing without four starters (Ashley Choren (dec gathering), Matt Mason (dec gathering), Ruben Lastra (injured list), and Mike Burns (Tea Party fund-raising event)), the Thunder Panthers used a disciplined plate approach to attack Cooper White and score runs in every inning. The big blow came in the third-inning, when the Thunder Panthers scored eight runs, due in large part to a screaming line drive off the bat of Eric "Sweet Dill" Hill and a bases loaded single from the "Hod Tamale," Dominic Hodson. The team also received solid hitting from Jeff "Ragu" Ragasa and "Hollywood" LV.
As a result of the team's current hot streak, McCoppin park was packed with a lively crowd, estimated by ESPN at at least seven people (including two teenagers trying for 45 minutes to push each other into a bush). The stands were also filled with scouts from the Fireman's Softball League and the Fisherman's Softball League, who have been trying for weeks to sign sweet-swinging Andrew "White Hot" McNaught away from Seyfarth. Media outlets who covered the game described the Thunder Panthers as "dazzling" and the team's hitting as an "offensive reckoning." More incredibly, after the team scored its nineteenth run, the awe-struck crowd saluted the Thunder Panthers; breaking out into a beautiful rendition of Ted Nugent's Cat Scratch Fever.
There is no Player of the Week this week due to a spectacular team effort. The Thunder Panthers have a make-up game next week (location TBD) and hope to qualify for the playoffs with a win. I will be sure to pass on the date and time of the game, once it is known. Thanks again to the office for its continued support of your Victorious Inseyt Thunder Panthers.
