Nick, it'll most likely be pushed back with some scouting happening inbetween now and the day the drive happens.
Long Travel, the only drive happening this weekend is the scouting drive for the wine tour drive. Meeting place is Washoe house @ 9:30 am. It'll be a slower and i mean slower drive because of the wine tasting stops we are doing.
John, if you show that would be cool. But looks like for now it's just going to be me and Roo riding shotgun in my car.

<bumpity bump>
man, just go back from a ride with Roo to and around Clear Lake and back. Very cool. Man is my car dirty.
Greg had a wonderful time and would drive with you anytime. That's the most i've talked while in a car in a long while. For some reason while i'm driving i hate to talk. I just get too into the drive.
Can't wait to go up there again

Thanks!!
I really enjoyed the opportunity to drive that WRX. I had a GREAT time, and anytime you want, we'll do it again. This Saturday, we'll be up there mapping out a good course for the tarmac guys, and I'll be more in my comfort zone (a Forester XT) for timing the Hopland to Lakeport leg of the rally.
I'll run with you anytime you want!!

Just...
Keep your eye out for that red truck!!
Hopefully, that redneck is too stupid to realize what color your car REALLY is...!! I'm sure since all he watches is NASCAR, he wouldn't recognize WRBlue...
WOOHOO!!
We didn't make it to Clearlake this weekend, so we'll have to postpone that drive. I need some input if you'd like to make it more of a rally setup. I have a couple of ways to do that, and have intermediate checkpoints and standoffs to make things interesting.
Pete, if you're watching this thread, I'd like some help making this more of a Monte Carlo style rally... one minute intervals, checkpoints, and maybe some standoffs included.
Edit question: When can this get a sticky status, or be moved to the meets forum?

even driving so fast around narrow roads, that yes, you can fit 2 cars, but it doesn't have lines down the middle.
don't get me wrong, i love driving at these speeds, but a lot of the time you should be driving ilke this at the track. so i will be making less drives and doing more track days
i have to say i feel the same way, i love to participate in these drives and you plan great routes, but when putting people's lives at risk, people who aren't even putting themselves out on the drive.. is a bit to much for me, it just took me a bit to realize this

WERD!!!!!
I'm with max & kevin....that's why you only see me @ the track......i challenge anybody to keep up with Adam & I at any track day....our subies are specically tuned for TRACK EVENTS......to each his own!!!
p.s. pretty sure my track days @ $149 a pop are less than your insurance companies deductibles........but i do recognize the danger of track days.....that's why i quote myself..."TO EACH HIS OWN"

Do me a favor. Look VERY CLOSELY at your COMPLETE insurance policy. Does your vehicle insurance cover you if your accident occurs while on a track? Most insurance policies have exclusions for performance driving, competition, etc. including taking it onto a track.
I'm not saying it's wrong to go to track days, and with a really good instructor, it will help you learn the limits of your vehicle, which is very useful on the road as well. A good high performance driving school, combined with the experience gained on track days is the best way to learn do drive quickly, yet safely.
There are some whose sole focus is how fast they can drive through the twisties. Then there are some who take bicyclists and other traffic on the road into account, and provide margins (some small, some more reasonable) for safety, and stay focused on the safety aspect. I prefer to think that I'm in the latter of the two categories, and yesterday, while in the passenger seat, asked Pleiad to slow down when I felt the pace was not taking the safety of the other people on the road into account.
I appreciate a good, fast drive just as much as the next person. I'm attempting to put together a good drive on roads where bicyclists and other traffic are at a minimum.
