Pete i like your idea. I'm all in for the "safety" thing too. but it'll take alot longer to drive. So the drives will have to be shorted. Until we do our next 2 day camping thing again. Which i have to say i'm looking forword to VERY MUCH.
You guys have all turned this thread into a safety highjack. But i'm happy to hear your opinions. After all we are all friends here and friends should be able to tell friends what they think. Even if they beleive the other may be hurt by what they say.
I still want to see everyone coming out on our dries and having fun. So if we start sending peolpe out as Pete (psoper) suggests 1 minute apart from one another. While every car has pace notes so they don't get lost. Maybe then we would not have all the wrecks etc....
still friends here guys, right?

Pete, i know you're a very busy man but this morning when i saw you on line i was hoping you would be posting a route suggestion.
Maybe next time.
Hey guys just to give you a heads up. I think i'm going for a drive next Sunday if anyone wants to come along. I will not be going up to Lake County because i don't have that much time. But i want to do some scouting for my "Wine Tour" that will be going on Very soon.
I will be posting the pace notes soon. like in an hour or so. And it'll be a "slower" drive because i'll be writing down times and milage at every turn.

Ive got friends from Montana coming down this summer- both of them have made the decision not to drink as a life style commitment (sometimes in Montana the choise comes down to dry up or die), but I'm thinking that I could arrange a non-alcoholic winery tour, hit some of the venues that do organic grape juices and such- hit a couple of the good food stops.
So anyway, I'm totally down for a winery scouting tour.
Sorry I didn't suggest alternate routes yet, I do love Bartlett Springs, Ida Clayton/Western Mines is pretty sweet too, so I would have been angling towards a more direct shot to Lake county, and if your doing Bartlett Springs we really ought to take it the rest of the way- Brim/Bear Valley Rd is kinda dull, but the Walker Ridge return to 20 is really awesome.
Lets maybe do that loop as a TSD in June in preperation for the July main event.

edit:Aw, damn...I guess you guys are already done with the safety topic. Well, post on the other thread anyway:banana:

I agree, thanks Dom for keeping things organized and brainstorming some safety ideas. I think it is really cool that everyone is being open about the safety thing. Makes me have more respect for you guys.
