I do like the idea of multiple groups. I mean, we can more than surely all leave at the same time, but it would be nice to have mulitple "leaders" spread out between the groups in case something happens. I mean, the drive is just great with a group of eight whereas when the time comes for pics/meeting-place, that's when we all want to be together. (Aww....)
And I know I have a few numbers like Irish and Gabe, but it might be nice to exchange more at the meet. That way we can communicate better with groups that break up...

UPDATE:
So about the BBQ. There's a place in Gualala called Bower Park that seems like a great place for the BBQ. Horshoe pits, tennis courts (I know someone here plays tennis!), a playground, basketball courts, and more importantly: a private picnic area with BBQ stands and tables.
Just sent an email with regards to space and the like. Oh, and the price for reservation would be $25, something I wouldn't mind paying most of it. That is, if someone brings the burgers and hot dogs!
Also, closer to the actual meet itself, we would need to have a signup for what everyone's bringing. There is a few nice super markets in Gualala, if you're looking for some fresh brewski's and meat...

we need more people to bring radios.
and from the looks of it we will be doing this ever month so if you buy some you will be sure to get your moneys worth as you will be using them alot.
also we could make an order in wich we go so if we need to get in touch with the first or last car we can relay the message. also we should know all the names of the people using the radios so we know who we are talking too
let me know what you think
One more for the list; unless people are holding against me the fact that I went right instead of left from that one parking lot, confusing some people (I can try to blame it on the pain meds).

oh and yesterday (the 31st) there where 2 cops with in 2 blocks pulling people over in the morning and when i came back home in the after noon they where still there.
and yes I have heard that there is no quota but I still think it is kinda odd that this goes on at the end of the month.

I wanted to mention that we should work on a few techniques for managing a convoy.
For example:
If we need to merge in traffic, one car in the rear gets in the next lane, and makes space for everyone else to get over. Basic Blocking
T intersections: not an expert here, so if you have any better ideas let em loose. I was thinking of the left turn in St. Helana where many of us got lost.
In that case, a few cars could go right, go a little ways up the road, and come back slowly....allowing most people at the intersection time to get out safely. I know I smelled at least one clutch (besides my own!!) when we left that intersection
Radios really help, as long as we can use them safely. If we really want this organized, we need a few group leaders, and a group cleanup for the rear. Both should have a radio, a co-pilot, and a map. Local area/route knowledge would help too.
This way we keep the groups small (managable) and each leader/cleanup can keep accountability of everyone in their group.
Some form of car ID may be needed, like a small # on the window...possible using the roster on the thread. It would also help for figuring out who is who after the drive when we are sorting through pictures.
Of course this next route looks a lot less confusing, so it is likely none of thie will be needed. But for the future.....
anyway, back to my spreadsheets class. *snore*
