General Altimax Arctics are what I ran. Great tire.

Summer performance tires don't even come close to a good winter set in the snow, and by in the snow I mean there are inches of snow on the road, not snow in the air or over there in the ditch.
Being from the Northeast and driving 3 winters in my old 09 WRX it matters more than you can imagine.

Hell, once I was driving in snow so deep out in New Hampshire that it was sliding up the hood into the hood scoop
Can't push snow like that without AWD and a good set of winters.

I just used to turn off TCS and spin the tires till they'd bite since I didn't have my STI when I lived in NY

As a resident of Tahoe I can tell you that you couldnt be more "fine" this season than ever. Even with the 1-2" my house got the other day (which is all melted now) the roads are always clear. Last time I really NEEDED AWD was 2011.

Thank you! This is what I needed to here. I can't get a good shot of what the roads are like and I have driven in snow since I was 16. I wish I could come help you move but unfortunately I'm not up there until Wednesday.

Just wanted to say that the Subaru crowd rocks. Had a **** day the other day, with two exceptions. One, got some time with an open road. Two, got a wave and a thumbs up from two different subie owners.

Oh no...not a K. I never, ever, ever recommend the G or K.

I certainly hope you are the exception to the rule, however, and I hope you have no problems!
