4 Bay Area rallies in Sept & Oct

#1 Targa Times-Monte Carlo type in Redwood City-see Pete Soper's thread. The other three are Porsche Club of America rallies. All cars are welcome. #2 is a Time, Speed, Distance rally on Sept 24th. Starts in Orinda. First car out is at 10:01. #3 is also a Time Speed Distance event on Oct. 1st. Start is at Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City. First car is out at 10:01. #4 is a Monte Carlo on Oct 22. Start is at Rector Porsche in Burlingame. First car out at 4:45 PM. Flyers for all 4 events are available at www.therallyeclub.org It's best to be there an hour early to register and read the General Instructions. No equipment is needed and these events are cheap. Two are $15 and two are $20. It's a great way to have fun in your cars. Isn't that why you bought them? You single guys can get a date to navigate for you. I'll try to answer questions. Your on your own for the date part.

Bump

for a good time. I loved the Monte that we attended last Saturday, and look forward to doing at least one or two more of the rallies scheduled for the next month.

Iwas really disappointed I couldn't run that one. How did you do and did the new people you brought enjoy it?

They loved it, and will probably be back for more. One of the Forester teams we sponsored got second place in the beginners class, and the other one got the "Best Subaru" award.

Hopefully your nav won't weasel out on you again at the next rally!

I hope they do come back for more. The more cars the better and once people try one they usually enjoy them. My wife is navigating for me on the next one so I should be safe. Hope to see you there. Bill

I wanted to, but unfortunately a paying gig came up, so I'm doing that instead.

This is the format of rally that this crowd should enjoy, hope at least a few of you will check it out.

No one else from I Club ran the Moonlight Monte Carlo and that's too bad because it was a great event. It was about 100 miles on roads like Pescadero, Stage, and Tunitas Creek. Parts of it were very fast. If I can brag a little, I was second on this one and had class wins on the other five this year. If I had been in their club I would have won the championship. This sounds better than it really is however because the entry has been small. That is the only thing wrong with these events. I can understand why the Porsche entry is small because most Porsche owners are posers anyway but I have tried for two years without any sucess to get some Subarus involved. Try one next year. Or just enjoy your donuts.

Greg and I were going to do the Moonlight Monte, but then we wound up running errands most of the day. It was just too hectic, and it's quite a haul all the way to the South Bay for us. Too bad really, we wanted to get some practice in with the new rally computer...

[snip]roads like Pescadero, Stage, and Tunitas Creek[/snip]

I'm on those roads almost every weekend, for fun...

I'd be at at least 1-2 rallies per month if they were on Sundays....I work EVERY Saturday...
