i'm an automatic owner, but on a WRX. I ran a stage 2 equivalent setup (vf34 + goodies) for over a year and beat on the car pretty hard. the transmission is fine, the fluid isn't even cooked. i did have the fluid flushed and replaced with redline hi-temp ATF very early in the game though.

It's a reflash using the Ecutek system. This means that just about every performance related parameter has been altered. Including closed/open loop fuel control switchover, knock learning ranges, AFR ramping targets, turbo dynamics, etc,. With a manual transmission, this Legacy would likely put down around 210-220whp-- the same as an STi. As for auto tranny concernes, there is none IMHO.

Hi,

Availablity is now and pricing for the reflash is $750. Custom tuning is extra but shouldn't be needed for most applications.

cheers

Shiv,
when will the XEDE version be available for those of us who would like to take out our flash when we need to? Will it have the same performance level? How driveable is the car after this reflash? Thanks

We've only tested the PnP XEDE in WRX and STi applications. Although I don't see why it won't work in the Legacy and Forester as well. All said and done, assuming proper mapping, the XEDE and Reflash will offer similar performance. However, there are a few things we can do with the reflash that cannot be duplicated with an add-on computer such as closed loop fueling, open/closed loop swithover parameters, knock control parameters, etc,. Likewise, there are things that can't be done with a reflash that can be done with an XEDE (user tuning, map switching, logging, etc,.) So pick your poison and don't look back. For those who don't plan on tuning the car themselves or take advantage of race gas maps, I always suggest the reflash. It proves awesome bang right out of th box with no fiddling. For others, I suggest the XEDE.

Frankly, I was very suprised to see the results we acheived with the reflash on this auto tranny'd Legacy. Drivabilty was perfect and the car woke up in a big big way

LOL... Alex left his account active on my computer at work. I could be a real trickster but I'll refrain

Xede

Shiv,
I would like the reflash but would like the invisibility the XEDE gives by being able to remove it if need be. I DO NOT plan on doing any tuning myself. Probably only drive to Turbotrix on one of your East Coast tours to have you fine tune it. I just don't want any chance of the reflash being detected. Are you saying the reflash is better or safer in any way? Thanks

Are the VIN, CIN, and CVN values retained after the reflash?
