Unless you have 5-8K more at your disposal, you may want to keep the car NA and go from there. Go to Barnes and Noble, buy the latest issue of SubieSport and read the article on the 05 RS they're building. Your car will be faster than it is now, but the road to higher horsepower involves turbos, and that means lots of money.

Check out what i've done to my 00 at http://legacycentral.org/mylegacy.htm

Good question. The rear section might fit, but the mid-pipe section is definitely longer. Finding one of those is nearly impossible, so most people have them built. I'd recommend a set of Borla headers, Stromung or Random cat, then a custom midpipe and rear section with a muffler of your choosing. It'll be relatively cheap after you're done, sound incredible, and give you a nice boost in power and fuel economy.

The 2000-2004 US Legacy is BE for sedan and BH for wagon.
