Has anyone throttle bodied a 2.2 96 legacy

Hi, just bought a 96 legacy 2.2 manual wagon and it too slow, Was just wondering how hard it would be to fit throttle bodys to it? How would i go about ditching the air flow meter when i put throttle bodys on?

I'd do exhaust work, intake, lightweight pulleys and ignition before i even considered anything like a TB mod.
