coolant temp sensor location

coolant temp sensor location

i have a 95 legacy w/ the 2.2 and i can't find the ect sensors location. does anyone have a tutorial or how-to somewhere?

The stock coolant sensor?

If yes, then it is located in the upper water pipe. The aluminum pipe bolted to the top of the block. It has a triangular 3-wire plug.

thanks for the reply. i went to the subaru dealership and picked up a coolant temp sensor. it has a brown rectangular plug. the part number is 22630AA041. is this the right part to replace if i'm getting the CEL for code 115?

A '95 would have a 2-prong plug. I did get a P0115 code and replacing the sensor solved the problem.
