Car Info: 1998 Legacy/Outback
Hey folks,
Someone sideswiped my parked legacy recently and took off the driver's side mirror - housing and internals mounts pretty badly damaged - and I'm looking for information on how to remove the mirror from my door so that I can repair or replace it. I'm guessing I have to pull the door panel in addition to the tweeters, but not sure exactly what to do. Anyone else had to do this, or have info they can share with me?
thanks,
p

the black tweeder cover should just pull off. the door panel is held on by 3 or 4 bolts. pull those bolts and pull the door panel off. The mirror is held on by another 3 or so bolts. Unscrew those and disconned the wire harness (if you have power/heated mirrors). bolt the new one up and connect the harness. turn car on and test mirror. If it works shut the car off and re assemble the door trim. it's an easy job.
