An Outback doing the Baja 1000, part 1

I work for an off-road magazine so this year I decided to do a chase vehicle run in my Outback for team 8A. Baja bit me as my front anti-sway bar snapped at 5mph, turning around on Mexico Highway 1 down by San Ignacio. I did over 1974 miles on the trip, to La Paz and back, full web site soon if anyone cares.

Oddly enough the OB doesn't seem to ride any different with no front sway bar???

Your wish is my command!

Mexico Highway 1, the course ran on this for some miles....and very dangerous for us chase vehicles...cows, drunk locals, and race vehicles going by at 100mph! The lanes are 107 inches wide and a semi is 105 inches...

Cool pics MAKO!!! I've been on HiWay1 down there. Worst of all is where those 2 107inch lanes drop off 10feet or more on both sides!!! WHOA!!!

Oh yeah, Glenn. My nightmare. Remember all those corner with NO barricade, just those wimpy concrete posts every ten feet....and a sick dropoff to the side?? If a semi came around a turn, creeping into your lane...you have nowhere to go. Head on or over the edge....
