LGT LOSES C&D comparo!
LGT LOSES C&D comparo!
I just got the new Car & Driver. Legacy GT vs. TSX, A4, and S40. Finishing order:
1. TSX
2. S40
3. Legacy
4. A4
Man, I thought the new Legacy would be mopping the floor with these guys!

Yeah, and the A4 wasn't the Quattro either. They weren't impressed by the Legacy's handling:
"The suspension rolls more than you'd expect of a performance car, and the shocks let it move. Apart from the forceful engine, there's not much sense of athletic discipline here. 'GT' is a badge, not an attitude."

keep in mind that every magazine out there is motivated by their paying sponsors.
there are very few magazines that are unbiased and have no financial motivation from maufacturers.
by my last statement i am not insinuating anything
just making a small point.
lets wait and see what happens in the next couple of months from other magazines.

Well form the Road and Track article where the Legacy won here are the numbers
Legacy GT TSX
0-60 5.6 7.8
0-100 15.5 19.5
1/4 Mile 14.2 @ 96.2 15.9@90.4
Skidpad .79 .78 (both horrible numbers perhaps it was bad surface and certianly bad All-Season tires)
60-0 Ft 135 133
80-0 Ft 238 237
700Ft Slalom 64.9mph 64.0mph
Fuel economy 20.0mpg 24.3mpg (based off of overall driving during test)
In the end the Legacy won nearly all the performance categories except braking and fuel mileage. It then won driving excitement, engine, handling (both tied with 20 total points), ride, exterior styling, luggage space (also a tie).
The TSX won price by .1 point 200 to 199.9 becuase it was 35 dollars less expensive. The Legacy GT final total was 585. x and the TSX was 578.7.
Check out the september issue of Maxim magazine. Legacy turbo is listed as one of the cars to have as your first car. Sure, the other ones are a chevy and a Scion but who cares? If its in Maxim, its gotta be good......right?

if you take a look at the points for each car there are alot of subject points that go to the acura and the volvo
euro and japenese magazines have very little bias because that is what readers want to know, the honest true about the car

Sorry I wouldn't want a TSX. I don't like the interior and never have liked Hondas vs Toyota. I looked at a S40. I liked the way it looked but it was a lot smaller. Smaller engine. The interior tried too hard and it was basically a new ford focus..Sorry I expect more for 30k. I ended up buying the LGT and couldn't be happier. I put some Toyo Proxes 4s on it and it hangs right there with an Audi A6 lowered and My buddys //M. So pretty much I guess what I am saying is C&D is talking outa their butts.
