There has never been a Legacy STi, a common misconception. The closest was the Legacy S401 which Subaru does not sell with the current body style.

The safest bet would be a Spec-B performance package offering for 05 in Japan and 06 in the US. Spec-B could contain better suspension bits, bigger wheels and brakes, and a six-speed. But anything is a guess.

huh? i just attended a subaru regional training(by the way i work for Subaru) couple of months ago...
the news you present here was not verified at all. unless i am mistaken-and i hope i am- there is no definite decision as of yet. japan will be the first to have one... and they have never made a production sti- if they do make a legacy sti here it will have that badging for marketing purposes only...
like mach5 said, where did you get your information?

"the high-performance Legacy is rumored to produce upward of 350 hp from a twin-turbocharged version of the company's 4-cylinder opposed engine."

as much as i like PM magazine- they were also the same magazine that published the wrx sti as having a flat six(i'll post the article as soon as i can find it)

i hope subaru follows suit after the forester sti... which they already have...i think its only a matter of time since the legacy made car of the year in japan.

true, my original inquiries were in relation to the sources and their credibility.
on the Popular Mechanics article it states "2005" STi-
i sell subarus... no sti will hit our shores for at least 2 years(unless soa pulls a rabbit out)... of which depends on the success of the u.s. launch of the 05 legacy platform. i just wish we had the B4. . . i mean that would be good enough for me...

yup, one step at a time

to get Impreza STi
it took 2.5RS (1998) - WRX (2002) - and finally STi (2004)
