Legacy 99 2.0 GT car jolts at 5500 rpm
Hi - I have a just recently bought a Legacy 2.0GT twin turbo (Auto) 1998 *** import.
hope some can help as there is a big jolt when i accelerate hard the at about 5500 rpm. The jolt is more than just a blip (feels like when you hit a rev limiter) and lasts a split second. The car then accelerates well upto the red line as you would expect.
Under normal driving conditions i.e. smooth acceleration and driving on the motorway this does not happen and the gear change is relatively smooth.
Is this normal or can i expect my automatic transmition to disintegrate in the near future!!!
The car has done 79K miles.
Any help much appreciated

Might be a turbo issue. There's a point in there where one turbo takes over for the other, and if #2 isn't working right I could see it doing weird things.
Might want to seek out a board where members are more familiar with these cars.
We never got any twin turbo models in North America.
