Difficult to believe... what do you think?
Hey gang.
I dont know how many of you have been trying to researching predefined performance stages for your 05LGTMT5 but I have been working diligently to gather enough information to make me dangerous. It has been slow going.
However, I stumbled onto something interesting today. Have a look:
http://www.xcceleration.com/legacy-turbo.stagekit.htm
http://www.xcceleration.com/legacy-turbo.stagekit2.htm
http://www.xcceleration.com/legacy-turbo.stagekit3.htm
This is exactly the type of thing I have been looking for but the stages and their corresponding numbers seem inflated... very inflated.
Any thoughts? Any actually done this?

The numbers seem inflated, they are using a piggyback engine management system, and a manual boost controller. I wouldn't trust them with my car.
I'm personally not a fan of predefined "stage" kits. I would look more at what each company's "stage" kits offer, and then make some informed decisions on what mods you really want.

Thanks for the comment.
I assume when you say "what each company's "stage" kits offer" you mean the guts (brand/make) of their stage kit's components. I also assume that most upgrade paths are going to be similar for all subies so you can use the WRX upgrade path as a generic primer for the LGT.
I am still not quite certain of the exact mod path that fits best for my budget and car.
IMO there is tons of info on the WRX and STi which provides at the very least a nice general guideline for those vehicle owners to follow, especially if that vehicle is the first vehicle they have ever considered modding.
It seems that in my neck of the woods, Vishnu has a pretty solid reputation. It looks like they have some plans for the LGT. I am in no real hurry to do anything but data gathering is my main focus.

As for a mod path, I'll post up my peliminary outline. I really only have a general guideline, but maybe it'll help you (hell, it'll probably help me to get my ideas out there and have other people comment on them).
- ECUtek reflash
- Wheels/Tires
- Suspension:
- STi pink springs/top mounts of some sort
- bigger rear Swaybar
- Other assorted suspension bits
- Uppipe ( so many options since anything that fits the STi will fit )
- Turbo Back Exhaust (something w/ High-Flow cat, no idea whats available yet)
- Injectors (STi pink top feeds, or maybe some Perrin modified stock injectors)
- Intake (Injen possibly, don't really know whats available)
- Headers (perhaps, this is kind of an unknown)
- Depending on how I like the pink springs, I might eventually get some Tein Flex's (if they become available for the LGT).
- And possibly if it goes farther with more power...
Bigger turbo which will possibly require a new Intercooler, which will possibly require a new intake manifold.

I like how you have specified some suspension/stability upgrades that seem to be before performance. I am feeling that is the best decision.
The current stock performance is enough to get me into trouble and after an ECUTek reflash with stock components (Vishnu claims impressive gains!) I think it would be wise to get some of the body roll stiffened up a bit.
I think that is my only real complaint about this vehicle. Sure i am an adrenaline junkie just like the rest of you but i just cant justify crankin anymore power from this vehicle without getting it to stay down first.
I notice that everyone seems to love the STi pinks for springs. Any other suspension components and brands recommended?

The reason I think pink springs are so popular is because they are fairly moderate and you can use the stock struts.
And yes, the suspension needs to be fixed on the car. I already think it is way too floaty.

Hey nKoan, I think you have all the mods on your path that are on mine... I was just thinking different order I guess...
what I've done:
Kartboy short throw (I would highly recommend this)
Wheels/tires (Motegi FF7's and Pirelli PZero Neros M+S)
Accessport Stage 1
to do:
Catless Up-pipe (have the Crucial UP in my room, but I'm waiting to get a DP before the install)
Downpipe (with cat)
Catback exhaust (can't decide if I'm going to go custom or what... any suggestions?)
Sway bars (maybe just a read, maybe front and rear... suggestions again?
I guess at that point I'll consider some of the other mods you listed, but for now I'm just keeping it at this...
Anyway, just thought I'd post my plan too.
