Yeah, you can do a "WRX brake upgrade", or as an alternative, you can also obtain the rotors, calipers and backing plates from a later model Legacy (2001-2004) fairly cheaply from a "junk yard". Doing such a swap will allow you to retain your current 16 Inch "GT" wheels, although you can no longer make use of the older "Legacy L" 15 inch alloy wheels.

If you have mega-bucks to spend you can also opt for either after-market 4-pot Brembos, or STi/Prodrive brakes as well. Both these setups will require you to run with 17 or even 18 inch wheels, and are rather costly upgrades.
