Hey guys i was wondering if you could tell me the difference between the 99 RS and the 99 SUS motors... I have a 1999 Legacy SUS fully modified in the interior and custom painted with 17's matching the body paint with cooper low pros. My DVD system really gives the comfort and looks the final touch. My only problem is i am having trouble finding parts to modify the motor. No aftermarket company has ever heard of the SUS. Is the motor the same as any other 99?? I want intake headers, or maybe see how much a turbo would run. Hopefully you guys can help me out.

The 99 Legacy and Impreza engines are a bit different, as the RS moved to the improved SOHC Phase II engine, while the Legacy retained the DOHC engine for much of 99. The good news is that the most common upgrades, like intakes, exhaust and pulleys, are all available for the Legacy model. You may be one of those who have a Phase II block with Phase I pistons, which is a big improvement, and would make a better match for a turbo setup.

hey thanks man, its good to know you guys all have the ins and outs to all of my problems. Do you have an idea on how much that turbo runs for?? Im sure its in the 2000$ range, but maybe there is something i dont know. Ok and thanks again.

The AVO kit from SPO and Rallitek is $3500. It was $4500 a year or two ago. That's not a bad price at all, and a tempting price for me as well.
