Wind noise at triple digits
Hey, I was wondering if anybody ever experienced a high-pitched whistling noise coming from their windows while driving at high-speeds(100+). I first noticed it on my 02 wrx when going over 120, when I would start to hear this loud noise coming from the passenger's side of the car. It sounded really freaky, especially since I when it was new I would routinely drive it at the speed-limited level and never experienced anything like it. I finally deduced that it was window noise, because on my new STI, the wind noise would occur on the driver's side front window, and would happen around 110+. Anyhow, does anyone have any suggestions about how to prevent this noise from occurring?

In most cases, it's been acknowledged that the wind noise comes actually from the mirrors, not the windows. Your case may be different, but the mirrors are generally the cause.

Yeah, it's most likely the mirrors, as stated above. You can try to fold your mirror back and tear the sticker out that is between the car and the mirror. That can sometimes have an affect on the noise.
