So I get home last night and wipe down my car. I notice that there are a few spots on my hood so I put some elbow grease behind it to get it out but nothing happens. I touch the spots and it FEELS like the clearcoat is gone in those spots! The spots feel alittle rough compared to the rest of my paint. You can only see the spots in certain angles of light but the fact that I know they are there bugs the hell out of me. Have any of you guys had this problem with their paint? I know subaru paint sucks but I rarely ever park my car outside for long periods of time in the sun. Their paint cant suck that bad can it? What can I do to treat it (if any)?

 

I'm having the exact same problem bro. my friend told me it's oxidation of the paint or if you leave water on your car and the sun hits it for extended periods of time it tends to do that also. He was telling me it's pretty hard to remove and the things ive tried havent worked wither probably gonna take it to a detailer and have them buff the shiet out of it.

use scratch and rub the sh$t out of it.
I got lots of these on my wings, they all gone now

 

try throwing some pennies at it. i hear it works

 

that does sound like oxidation, but 1 thing you could do is try buffing it.. but if it is through the clearcoat the only thing you can do is refinish.. another thing that could have caused it is bird crap left on and not wiped off 4 a while, just a fyi.. gluck man

 

Water spots act like little magnifying glasses on your paint in the direct sunlight, make sure you use a quick detailer to minimize them whenever possible. Bird poop is acidic as well, so the same goes for that.

You can try a medium polish like
Intensive Polish or a heavy polish like Menzerna Power Gloss. If you go with the heavier cutting polish you should follow it up with Ceramic Clearcoat Polish to remove any hazing.
