what the hell is wrong with my gas milage
Well for the past month my gas milage sucks ***. Its like 2.79 a gallon over here in south san francisco. Everytime I fill up, I only put 20 or 25 bucks in it and at the end i only get 150miles on it, IF IM LUCKY. I don't even step on the gas that much anymore. Is there something wrong with my car? cause i know this is not normal hahaha. should i go get it checked or something?

my best advice would be to fill up the tank all the way, reset your trip odo and wait till your next fill up.
At the next fill up, see how many gallons you actually fill up, and see how many miles you got out of the gas you used.

Well, $23 of gas at $2.79 a gallon is 8.24 gallons. If you get 150 miles on that, it's 18.2 mpg. That's not great, but that's what A LOT of WRX owners see.
Reset your trip odometer every time you fill. Make sure you fill to the same level every time... either stopping when it clicks or top it off the same amount after it clicks every time. Then all you do is:
Pull into the station. Fill your tank. Look at the miles on the trip odo and divide the number of miles by the number of gallons (miles per gallon). Viola. That's the MPG you got for however many miles you put on that tank.
A lot of people keep a log.
I used to average between 18 and 19. Now that the VF22 and whatnot is on there, I'm averaging just over 20 . I think it's because the turbo doesn't spool into positive boostduring daily driving... I use less gas.
Anyway, no way to tell if there's a problem unless you calculate your MPG a few times. Based on what you said, I'd say it's normal. I think a Prius is the answer if you want better

People say "BOV's make you run rich between shifts" and equate that to worse gas mileage. While atmospheric BOV's do make you run rich between shifts, it doesn't equate into a change in gas mileage. You don't run rich because of extra fuel, you run rich because of less air. The amount of fuel does not change.
^^^ just thought I'd throw that out there cuz it's an easily-confused assumption that most people definitely make.

I get about 18 but would like more....
Anyone know mods that not only help in gas mileage but also doesnt detract from the performance?

...and a tune, actually. The car runs VERY rich under full throttle stock. Getting it tuned, even a very conservative and safe tune, will get you using less gas under full throttle. Still, the light right foot mod accounts for a lot

in city driving in low gears = low gas mileage
highway driving in high gears = better looking gas mileage.
regardless of how often you floor it, try up shifting at 3500 RPM, and take off that silly BOV, they are useless. unless of course your name is james aka "K1nG 0f d4 Str33TZ".
I shift at 5000 RPM pretty much everywhere I go, and do mostly highway driving and get about 20.5 MPG. my mods are catless uppipe and a gruppe-s ecutek tune.
