wet dirvers side floor??

i have a 95 legacy sedan Lsi and for some reason the center of the floor is all wet on the drivers side. I thought that maybe the seals were loose on the windows but i can't see any water or wetness around the door side of the carpet. It seems to be wet dead center on the floor pan... Sun roof is water tight and i dont see any rust under the body.. Can somebody help me figure this out??? Wife wants a new car already and i'd rather fix the problem.... Thanks, Tim

hehehe... My girlfriend would say the same thing when anything happens to the car.

Is it soaking wet? or just moist? Maybe you can lift the carpet up a little to see if it's from top or underside? If they are equally wet, maybe dry it out first and observe it carefully to see where the water is coming from? Good luck!

so this problem is still happening. I bought new rubber seals from a 99 legacy that is wrecked and i can get parts cheap from. Anyway, from what I can see the heater core and a/c condensor is on the passenger side. The lower seals seem to be air/water tight but I found the water leaks in at the bottom front end of the lower drivers door. how could the water get in there? It only happens when the car is standing still and it bearly comes in when the car is moving in the rain. Could it be leaking from the top seals?? Where else could it be coming from?

I had the same thing happen to me on a honda i used to have. turnes out the water was coming in through the air vents at the bottom og the windshield. I had the windshield replaced and that disturbed the seal at the bottom of the glass. it only was a small rubber trim that sat flat on the very bottom of the glass, but it aparently deflected the water as it runs down the windshield and over this piece. when they replaced the glass this piece didn't get set right and it allowed the water to run under it and in through the heating ducts. I haven't looked at the subaru before i post this, so it may not apply here, but its a place to start.

The only other thing i might think of would be the sunroof drain tubes have come up in side the car. pull back the kick panel and look for a clear tube. it shouldn't be just inside the car. it should go out through a grommet to the outside of the car.

good luck.

Its the drain tube for the AC. This has happened on a few cars. Go to www.legacygt.com for more threads concerning this occasional issue.

it was the sun roof drain onthe drivers side. 3 bolts to pull the sun visor down, pull the trim off, and pull the head liner down. All I had to do was push the tube back over the drain. All fixed...
