Weighted shift *****

I've heard from someone that having a weighted shift-**** greatly increase shifting smoothness. What are your takes on this idea?

I guess it could make a small difference but I think if it was heavy enough to make shifting smoother it would probably make your shifts slower.

this is a very popular thing to do in the bmw community, as most of the short shift kits greatly increase effort, and a nice heavy weight shift ****, like on the order of a pound or so, immensly decreases the effort the ssk introduces to shifting. kinda like balancing it all out. i have that done to my bimmer and i'll speak from experience and say it really does help, not the dramatic change that some may say it is, but it is indeed quite noticable.

I dunno if you wanna do this. This would increase the tendency to force shifts. Not good for a transmission w/ synchronizers.
