Water leaks? Help...

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if you guys are experiencing the same problem I am. I don't know where the water is coming from but every time I drive in the rain My carpets gets soaking wet. I don't see anything underneath the car that would allow this to happen. Anyone know of has experienced this same problem? Please let me know so I can take care of this asap. Thanks for looking.

I have no idea where the leak is coming from. All I know is that the carpet is completely soaked everytime it rains. Yes there is a sunroof and it is factory equipment. It's an 99 RS coupe.

hey midnitewrx, where are the sun roof drains located so I can check this and take care of this problem? Thanks for your help.

your going to have to pull the headliner down.. the drains are at the four corners of the sunroof modual. if your lucky you the drains are clogged at the wheel wells. check the drains at the wells.

which carpet? front, rear, trunk, or all?

for the 99rs, if you open the sun roof, here should be a drain hole by the corner towards the rear. the drains to the rear quarter panel I believe. you should be able to see the clear rubber tubbing by the floor jack.

if you take off the headliner, you'll see something like the first pic, where the yellow is the drain tube. second pic is just the complete assembly of the sun roof, and 21 is the drain tube...

hey thanks alot for all you help. Now that the sun has decided to show up on my day off, I will resolve this issue.

All of my floor carpets are wet, meaning, driver, passenger, and the rear seat carpets.

thanks again guys.

After I pulled the top apart I didn't see that the drain tubes were clogged or maybe I just can't tell or didn't know. The tubes were clear and everything seems to be doing it's job unless at the end of the tube there were clogs which I couldn't get to because I didn't know where it lead to. I followed the tubes and pulled apart the tire walls but I didn't see where it ended....maybe I'm not doing something right.

I checked the end tubes for the back and they seemed fine.

maybe try to pour some water into the tube and see if it's going through?

I could do that but am not sure where the front drain tubes end. Sorry I'm a newb when it comes to this. I'll figure it out when the weather gets better. It got cloudy and dark so I stopped. Don't have a car garage so I'm stuck doing it outside only.

it should end in the trunk area where you store the floor jack. I'll try to take some picture of it today if I get a chance...

I don't know where the fronts end. I know where the rears end at and I checked it and they were fine. It's probably the fronts but it seemed fine when I looked at them too.
