Well, a couple of things to consider:

Neon tubes are pretty cheap, and give off light well. LEDs will be original, less likely to break, and in the event that you do break one, you can replace just the one. However, blue and white LEDs are pretty pricy compared to other colors, such as red, green or yellow. Also, the light that LEDs give off is pretty weak compared to neon.

Let's ask a question or 3. What color is your car? What is your budget? Are you building a show car? How good are you at wiring/soldering? Give us a little background and we can help you out.

If I did under carage lighting, I would use LEDs, neon is too delicate and does not emit enough light.

Hahahahaha...boost controller instead...hahahaha....

TTs, BOVs, BCs (manuel or digi), undercar lights...they're all the same to me, useless. You want something cool? Get a reflash. That'll make you faster without blowing your block, unlike any on the things I listed.

Wink

I thought I was helping...

Seriously though, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. IF I were to light the underside of my car, and had unlimited resources to do it, I'd use LEDs. But like everyone here pointed out, neon is cheaper and easier to find and install.

No hurt feelings, but he was very polite, and not stupid like ' HI GUYS WHAT IS T3H B3TTER NEONZ OR LEDS. SLAP MUH FR0!~'

so if he is just lookin for advice in the appropriate place (Interior/Exterior & Lighting) he should not get flamed for it. Thats all.

Now if he was asking in BA that would be a different story. But he obviously is not a complete newb.
