Hey, all I know is that the paint on my '02 RS is a lot better then my dad's dodge. He has a black ram, but it is very thin paint with white primer underneath. It is so bad that we had a cardboard box rub against it, just slightly, and got a rather large and noticeable white mark. So its not just subaru, its everyone. My friends toyota has the same problem, red paint, white primer. Makes me happy my car is silver, hides everything.

I got a small dent and scratch on my right front fender from the neighbor kid's bike. That made me real freakin' happy. But not as much as the $675 estimate from the collision shop!

depending where that dent is that sounds about right- if its on the more flat area then you are getting ripped.. if its on the corner then the whole panel would need to be replaced(usually corner areas are thicker so dent removal is pontless as it would create more creases in the metal). you can order the panel from subaruparts.com for like 125 bucks(before shipping) <--- that possibly helps cut costs(as the bodyshop might try to profit off the parts too)

I know for sure that my paint is bad as there are approx 30-50 chips on the driver side. I know it's subaru because the entire passenger side was repainted due to an accident less than a year after purchasing my 02. There are no chips at all on the passenger side. My car is black so it's really depressing when I wash it. It only has 38000 miles.
