there is a way to take the locks out and switch them. its a PITA from what i have heard and what i have seen when i looked at the lock too. i'd say go for the dealership and see how much it is to get a new trunk lock. i want to swap for an sti wing, but finding one is a hassel too.

I swapped my '02 trunk with an STi trunk. Doing the locks wasn't that hard, actually. If you remove the inside release handle, you can get your hands to the lock a little easier. Remove the pin with some needle nose pliers or a flat head screw driver, being careful to not pop it off and allow it to rattle down into the trunk. That's not unrecoverable, but a PITA nonetheless!! After you take the pin out, the lock will just pop out. Reverse the procedure, and enjoy your new trunk!
