STi wing issue

Whenever i am on the freeway, or at least goin 60mph, i notice in my rear view mirror that my wing flexes and wobbles. Say the wing is straight like | and it wobbles like () up and down.. great pictures huh? Well is this a normal effect as the car is in motion? and could this cause a problem with aero dynamics?

you know, before i bought my STi, i remember seeing one on the freeway, and did notice that the wing flexes a bit on bumps and what not. So im sure it is normal. it just bugs me..

Yeah, its normal. It just means its getting a lot of airflow over that part of the wing, and it is doing its job.

That and the fact that its visible for miles and miles is why I took that thing off, along with the stupid looking hood scoop. The car is great now

Am I seeing things? Why not just get back in your Civic DX and quit hating on a sick *** car. Especially your own car.

Yo I don't have to like that wing and hood scope. actually my 2002 wing and hood scope looked a lot better , it didn't have the torque and some of the STi, so I dumped it. My Sti is a great car without the wing and scoop.

Yeah I know it is your opinion and of course your entitled to it, but the scoop and the wing are the defining componets that make an STi look like an Sti and set them apart from all other Subaru's appearance wise and of course the performance aspect. The majority of us happen to like those things about the STi and it happens to be that a lot of us keep those parts on the car and it looks good, not stupid.

Really that's funny I see a lot of people take them off and sell or trade them both especially if than can afford a FMIC.

That remark borders on heresy.

well, maybe.

opinions are just that, opinions. mw1029h if you'r happy with your STi looking like an RS more power to you. there's nothing wrong with wanting to be low profile. it's just that for some, tossing those parts goes against what STi stands for.

unless you have a JDM Impreza WRX STi Type R Spec C 16', they don't come with the wing... or Brimbo's.

I completly agree. I just didn't like when mw1029h said the scoop and wing are stupid looking when a lot of people choose to keep those parts on their cars and like them, that's all

+2 on that, I have an 06 and I think the RS look (scoopless) is better. The wing is way too OUT THERE. You might as well hold up a flag for the cops to pull you over.
