STI Scoop Fit?

hey
will the MY04 STI hood scoop fit the MY04 WRX? is it a direct bolt on replacement or would the WRX hood need to be modified?

thanks

It's a direct fit I believe.

The STi splitter is larger to accomodate the larger STi intercooler. I guess if you just change the scoop it really shouldn't matter unless you want a larger intercooler too.

here's the deal. i was planning to put an STI scoop on my MY04 wrx wagon. Reason: because i think they look cool. yeah maybe there'll be more air but i wasnt planning on changing the intercooler for a while.

here's my concern though: i still want the stock intercooler to do its job. will the bigger scoop NEGATIVLY effect the performance of a stock intercooler?

I don't see how it could man. I did the same thing. I put the STI hood scoop on my 04 WRX. You don't need the splitter unless you get the larger IC. It fits perfectly and looks a lot more aggressive IMO.

STI hood scoop?

I got an 04 wagon and it bolted on directly, with no problems. For the splitter question, just use the stock one, as mentioned earlier by "njc200". I believe if you use the STI splitter it will not seal properly around the stock intercooler and the air might over shoot it.If you need pics I got it on my wagon, just pm me with your email and I'll send it to you.

Good observation but should use "manage attachments" to show us your pics of your wagon to everybody in the forums.
