Unhappy smudge marks after car wash

i washed my car yesterday and as i was drying the car i noticed these weird smudge marks on my car. i think it was the soap, but im not too sure. i was using a brand new sheep skin mit, could that be a factor? has anyone experienced the same thing? thanks

I've used the NXT generation products from Meguiars and I can say thats never happened to me. Is there a chance that something got mixed into the soap like tree sap? Maybe the glue that attaches the sheep skin to the mitt itself melted? (just a wild guess!) Try using a quality polish to take it off, if not, you might have to use an automotive tree sap type remover or a clay bar system. Good luck!

That looks like soap that was allowed to dry on the car. Next time try this. Break your car up into sections. Do the canopy first, rinse, next do the hood, upper part of the doors, and the trunk area rinse, now do the bumpers lower part of the doors side skirts ect. rinse. This does a couple of things one it keeps the soap from drying and dirt form redepositing where you just cleaned, next generally the car is cleaner on top than it is on the bottom, you won't be transfering dirt and possibly scratching/swirling.

i always wash my car in sections, starting from the top to the bottom. i got rid of it with a wax and bug removing spray. i think it was the mit, it was the first time i used it.

something to note: most people dont wash the soap completely off their car... its true, just because you rinse off the lather, etc... and hold it there for a sec.. its NOT off... professionls recommend hosing it down like crazy, im talking drench that car for a good 30 seconds on each panel at least after the soaps visibly off... and people sometimes blame there water... ppsshhhttt

i actually tryied rinsing it off for a while and it wouldnt go away. when i ran my finger on it, you could actually feel it. it was kinda like vaseline i guess. either way, it went away with bug remover.

Vaseline eh? I think I know what happened...

It's ok to love your car, but don't love your car.
