Short shifter question.

Is a 5 speed the same as a 6 speed short shifter? Just curious on buying a short shifter because the dude posted it was for a 5 speed then stated it was for an Sti. Is it possible it could Be universal? Thanks

No, they are completely different. It dosent have the reverse lockout.

5 speed shifter (simple)



6 speed shifter (slightly more complicated)



The rods are separated like that so that the reverse cable can thread up the shaft to ****.

The pivot ***** might be different sizes too. Not sure though.
