Seats all the same from 02-05 in the WRX?
Seats all the same from 02-05 in the WRX?
Finally got the wife talked into a new car after 280k on the old one.. Has to be a wagon, so the WRX came up.. I sat in one yesterday at the dealer (05 WRX Wagon) and the seat wasn`t too comfy for a 300lb guy like myself.
So, my question is, do the earlier models have different seats? If not, I have to find something else.

Cool, now I just need to find an 02 or 03 to sit in

Much better than my wifes suggestion of getting my fat *** to lose some weight
I'v e got an '02 WRX and an '05 Saabaru. The seats in the '05 are WAY BETTER! The seat foam is much more firm and supportive and I don't bounce up and down in the seat when going over bumps like I do in the '02. I have to use a lumbar cushion in the '02 to save my back, and I don't in the newer one. Also, in addition to the active headrest safety feature, the headrests in the Saab are much closer to my head which makes them more effective.

I know that alot of people prefer the 02-03 seats, but I thought the later model seats (04-05 WRX and Sti) were more suitable for bigger guys cuz their seat bottoms are alittle wider and us scrawny guys tend to slide around alot in them...?

I much prefer the later model seats. More comfortable to me - they were uncomfortable the first day I had my '05 but some fine tuning to the seats is all it took and now they're awesome.
