Scratched Side Windows = Common?

I've recently noticed that both my passenger and driver windows on my 96' LX Coupe are horribly scratched along where they slide against the stabilizers. My windows are really bad now. My friend bought a 97' L Coupe yesterday and his driver window is scratched the same way. Anyone else have problems? Seems like a design flaw on Subaru's behalf....but it's too late now! Anyone have any luck removing scratched glass?!

I don't have scratches, but I think I know what you're talking about. It seems to be common, but I don't think it's as bad as getting scratches.

I have a 96 L and it has the same thing. But they are not that bad, just a 2" line think that runs down the middle portion of the front windows.

Ive got the scratches on both sides also (98OBS) The scratches are on the outside, so it wouldn't affect the tint, but the idea of paying to tint scratched windows seems pointless to me. = no tint for me

I'm still planning on tinting mine, why is it pointless?

Thats what it looks like, sorry hard to takes pics of glass...on both windows in two separate spots (where the window guides are) sucks...but what can you do? Cerium oxide?Cerium Oxide used on scratched glass

I have the same problem on my '01 RS. Both the driver side and passenger side are scored from the window guides.
One other thing, I have tinted windows and since the tint goes on the inside of the winodw you should have no problem getting it put on.
