I have an 05 Saab 9-2x, as most of you know it is almost identical to the impreza wagon.

The 9-2x does not come with a roof rack, and the rack that saab offers is a cheap imitation of a thule. I like the streamlined look of the stock impreza rails much better. I checked with a subaru dealer, and the rails are available and should work. However, they are 275 a rail. Can anyone think of a cheaper alternative - i.e. has anyone removed their rails recently to upgrade or for aesthetics?

 

Where do you live? I might have an extra set laying around in my garage.

fyi - I have only the rails, not the moulding you'd need, so I'd check with Subaru on the cost of those units

Do you know if the roof molding used after removing the rails is the same for all years. I have a part number for an 02 and I recently removed the rails from my 07.
