TW:Rent my Snow tires, Roof Rack, and roof box
Hey fellow i-clubers. I have invested some money in my snow equipment, and i know some people can possible use it to.
I am thinking of renting my snow tires (stock 03 wrx rims 5x100 with Michelin alpine 2)
NOTE: Snow tires don't mean you can drive like you do when it is dry. You still need to be a safe driver and respect nature.
Rental fee-
$30 a day
$60 for 3 days
or $1 per 10 miles (what ever is more)
Deposit- $500- or your aftermarket rims +$200
Let me know if this seems reasonable.

I also have a yakima rack and box that fits my 03 wrx sedan. (I put my snow boards in the box along with jackets)
Rental fee-
$30 a day
$40 for 3 days
$50 Thursday through Monday
Deposit- $400

It's funny 'cause I just lent by brother my set of snow tires. He was about to drive to Tahoe for 4 days on well worn 18" performance tires...idiot.... The only thing we were worried about was that the 16" Forester wheels wouldn't fit over his '08 Outback XT brakes. They fit like a charm though. As we finished mounting them I reminded him that if he wanted to use them again, he'd be ponying up some $$$ 'cause I just dropped $500 on the tires a few months ago. Seems like a good idea. Kind of like a snow tire timeshare

may be interested in the near future. I need to buy a new snowboard rack (was looking at the yakima fatcat 6) but am also considering a box. Which box do you have? I may want to rent to see if I like it or not. let me know how much to rent + deposit.

I have a space booster box. I built an aluminum subframe within it for more stability and strength. As for rental fee and deposit, we can negotiate that, depending on the length of trip. Deposit would be enough so I can buy another one if you choose not to return it.
I went with a box so I can put boards, and bulky item like my jackets on the roof. I also felt the box was mor aerodynamic. I got 24-25 mpg in my Wrx with 4 people and a fully loaded trunk

I forgot to mention I ran the same tires for my winter setup for the past three winters. Really good snow tire that is just slightly biased to dry pavement handling as they are not as soft a compound as a Blizzak (which we run on 15's for my wife's RS).
They were pretty good in dirt too. We drove 200+ miles of Nevada dirt roads at over 100 degrees with speeds in excess of 80mph and not one problem.
