rock chip protection?

hello,

on thanksgiving sunday i got myself an '05 sti, black color. i am having a blast with it. however, my daily commute totals 110 miles a day on the freeway and i am already getting rock chips on the front of the car.

has anybody tried fitting a regular wrx nose cover on the sti? the dealer said they dont make a sti nose cover.

thanks in advance for any help.

I would suggest a clear bra as well. Where are you located? Check out rockblocker.com

Krinkov put the clear bra on my car and did a very nice job. I don't worry nearly as much when I take it off road

A lot... They're all really small though, but there are a bunch. Subaru paint just isn't that durable. I drove my car here all the way from South Carolina. I think I got the majority of the chips on that road trip.

came with the car? Like as an option...or did you buy it used?

I find mine helps a great deal. The headlights are speed tested to take rocks at 120mph if I am not mistaken. I have had TONS of rocks bounce of the front of my car and have no dents or chips since I added the clear bra.

Wonder if yours is thin or something?

I got the clear bra and love it, my 2002 WRX had chips all over it, the paint just wasn't tough. The 2005 STI so far has nothing. Granted it's only 700 miles but it seems to be working and you can't even notice it's there unless you know to look for it.
