Question Replica STi grill not fitting right

I've got a replica STi grill on my 03 WRX, but there is a gap where it meets my hood on the passenger side, right between the headlight and the mesh. On the drivers side it matches up just right. Anybody else have this problem? I've re-fit it a thousand times and the gap remains.

I'm thinking I could cut the small rubber bumper that sticks out from the underside of the hood that falls right there, since that could drop the hood level... is this a wise thing to do?

If you are talking about the rubber stops just behind the headlights, then these are adjustable by just turning them. You can raise or lower a small amount by turning them. Be carefull how much you go adjusting things though. You may find you adjust the hood so the grill loooks right but then the hood will sit higher or lower than the fender which looks worse. The hood may rattle, which means you would then have to adjust the latch, etc. My replica grill has the same problem, except on my car it's the driver's side that has the small gap, but my driver's side is your passenger side, cause my car is RHD ...... confused yet

You can see pics here http://member.newsguy.com/~gtfour/subaru/subaru.html

If the gap is similar to mine, then my advise is to leave it.

Thanks, my gap is about the same, a little larger. I'll try turning the stops. Thanks for the advice!
