Replacing HID bulbs

Wasabi everyone, I want to replace the hid bulbs in my '04 Sti to some 8k 55w bulbs. Will it just be a simple bulb switch or will I need to get different parts as well? I've never replaced the bulbs before so I'm not sure what I'll need to do. Thanks for any help u can provide.

Why 8k's? Thats going to kill your light output. Your stock 4300k put out more light than an 8k will, unless all your're going for is color. If I were you Id only go to 6k max.
But to answer your question all you need to do is pull out the old bulb and put in the new one

I believe that its just a simple bulb switch sence you have an STi. When you switch the bulbs remeber to not touch the bulb itself with your fingers.

I'm with XxSti05xX. Why the 8k? Go with 5k or 6k max.

Oh really? I actually want the 6k look but I was told that if you go with the 55w instead of the 35w, then its better to go one step "bluer" because of the brightness. I'm glad I asked first cuz I don't want to go too blue.

So 55w D2R 6k is the way to go?

I have 55w 6K with my setup. Believe me, the highpower of the 55w ballast "washes out" the deep blue, so the 6K is perfect mix between light blue/crystal clear. If I had a 35w ballast but kept the 6K temp, that would be the same as getting a 8K temp which would give it that deep blue color which doesn't do **** for you but drastically limit your visibility

GL!

I went onto Lightwerks.net and saw a pair of D2R 6000k 55w digital bulbs for $75. Is that good as far as price-wise?
