Removing the ash tray and lighter

Has anyone done this and how do I go about doing it.

what year and model?
if you pull the ash tray out there is a tab (kinda wavy looking i guess) that runs the width, thats where people put out the cigs. push that down (it should feel springy) and pull it should come right out. and lighter i am thinking you just pull out? i dunno not really rocket science if you ask me. :banana:

LOL I didnt try I just wanted to make sure it wasnt screwed in, I want to put my dvd player there.

i think he meant including the left side bit with the lighter. which is part of the center console, so i don't know if it would work.

i am thinking of putting the defi display unit down there, though. do you think it will fit?
