Pop the hood? (hood won't release after installing Supertones)
Pop the hood?
I was installing my hella supertones and I guess one of them was a little forward too far (driver side one)... well i popped the grill back in but the horn was pushin on the grill, I shut the hood but forgot to put back the bolts on the ram air so I went to pop it and the hood release wont open it, its really tight,,, anything I can do to pop the hood withouit hurting my car?
I could reach and push on the hood release latch through the grill but the lock? mechanism is still holding it shut
I had my sister try and pull it while I was pushing against the grill/hood/latch lever/ everything i could think of
Any help

This is a pic from scoobymods which I used to show where i drilled my hole... the one on the pass side was already there the one on the driver side I drilled... there was a clip on the left that I was close to and the bracket might have touched it but i dont think that would effect the hood opening right? Is that where the locking mechanism goes through?
in case anyone ever runs into the same problem: It was that second bolt on the right side... I used a bolt and nut and locked the hood release lock cable in between it which prevented it from opening... i pulled the grill off gently... only breaking one clip and undid the bolt/horn and it popped up with ease...

Be careful when drilling or modding like that, make sure nothing important around the area you are working.
Glad you were able to fix quickly and painlessly. I've seen people cut fuel lines and other fun things like brake lines, doing installs with out checking where they were drilling and cutting....always more fun when instead of installing, you end up repairing

Yea I checked for anything important but I didnt feel anything in the way... plus there isnt anything really important in safety respect near the grill that a 1" drill bit could damage, lol... Thanks for the heads up
