Parking sensors? How about front lip sensors?

I was looking into using a parking sensor (you know the little ultrasonic sensors with monitors that produce beeps and/or show your distance to the car behind you) for helping with navigating parking situations with a front lip on a lowered car. Unfortunately, for most of these when you get to around 5cm or so, the readout is usually 0. Its good for those parking lot pylons. But with a drive way, if you can come within 1cm, or even less, and get up a driveway w/o scraping, you'll do it. Anyone seen a set of these systems with that kind of sensor granularity?
