to paint cf hood or not to?
I wouldn't paint it. I think cf looks beautiful. I wouldn't pay $600 bucks for a cf hood, and then pay another $100 or more to paint it, just to lower your car weight 15 lbs or so. Now if you buy it for the reduction in weight, AND for the great looks on top of that, then paying $600 might be more justifyable IMO.

Isnt that y you buy a CF hood? If you want a hood to paint buy a Fiberglass hood that is primed and ready to roll. You might even save a couple of bucks on a FB hood.
Also isnt the CF hoods and parts polished and finished off with a high gloss epoxy resin? If so the paint might not even stick bro unless you are going to sand the whole part off

1 if i could find a fiberglass hood i would buy it but all i can find is a CF or the Aluminum

i have a WRB and CF hood. i like it. i don't think a hood alone will make it ricey, imo. i think that'll depend more on other exterior mods to your car, not just a hood. if you don't like the look of the CF hood though no sense getting one. i don't think the weight reduction is worth the cost. take out your seats instead.

I'd leave it as is unless you've got some crazy paint job. I don't think they're ricey either. They do serve a purpose.
Isn't the aluminum hood just as light as the CF hood?
