I just got my new Osram Silverstar H1 12v 55w lowbeam replacement bulb for my 2005 WRX. I've always been a little hesitant to believe any of the claims from bulb manufacturers on being brighter than the others or better than stock etc, etc.
I went with the Osrams becuase I have heard nothing but praise about them from mostly members here and on some other forums. I never hear anythig about the new hyper blue diamond ion that is so much brighter than stock that dimly illuminates the road ahead of many a ricer. That alone tells me there really must be something worthy about the Osrams, I must find out for myself.
Anyway onto the comparison. This isnt complex or by any means detailed, basically I installed one bulb and left the other stock bulb in place and took a few pictures. The brighter one is the Osram on the right side of the picture (drivers side). Upon a closer look the Osrams do produce a slightly whiter light than the stock (less yellow) and much brighter. If you dont plan on upgrading to HID's I would highly reccomend these bulbs.
