Oil temp gauge not working

Oil temp gauge not working
So,
I bought an 02 bugeye about two weeks ago.
It has the subaru oem Lamco gauges in replacement of the clock.
the oil temp gauge was not working when i bought it so i took the guage pod apart.
The wires are hooked up to the gauge itself.
Im wondering where the wires connect to get the temperature reading. Oil cooler..oil pan..oil filter?
