My timer is POSSESSED!
Recently, I have been having dead battery problems on my WRX. I thought it was a short, or something slowly drawing power as I am at work or sleeping. I have done everything from tracing wires and inspecting fuseboxes only to find out my Greddy Auto Timer is the culprit. I have never seen a timer that turns your car ON (not starting it, but making it go to ACC.) I found this the other night while fishing around under my seat for my wallet before going into a store. I was there so long, the timer countdown finished, and the car turned off like it should. I Took the keys out and locked the doors and began walking toward the store. I was almost to the door when I heard subs booming from behind me. I turned around and the car was back on, headlights and fogs on, stereo blasting, gauges chewing up my precious cranking power. I went back and turned the timer off, thus, turning the car off again. I watched the car for about 5 minutes and went into the store. When I came out, the stinkin lights and all that crap was on again. Now, just to make sure Satan doesnt come and completely jack my car from me, I have to unplug the timer from the harness.
I did install it myself, and its too easy and Ive done it too many times for it to be my fault. I used the Greddy WRX harness to make things easier and connected the e-brake leads and ECU tach leads just so I dont have any loose wires hanging around. Any idea on what might cause this? Should I call a priest for an exorcism and risk getting molested? (bad joke)
