Morettes installation question?

Hi all, just wondering if it's necessary to take the front bumper off to remove the OEM headlights? I am planning on putting some Morettes on and don't know for sure if it's necessary to take the bumper off.

TIA,

John

No, just take off your grill and un bolt 3 bolts ( 2 behind the grill and 1 on top near the fender. Then pull out and swap harnesses and that should be all.

Lights installed, now beam pattern question?

Thanks guys!!

I managed to get them installed and the only "tricky" part was the clip behind the little OEM grill pieces. But other than that, it was a very straight forward install plus a little splicing.

I was wondering what kind of beam pattern you guys have? Mine looks like the following. Does this look right? If not, how do I change it back to the correct pattern? Thanks.

Are you saying they look like this-

Instead of like this-

If so you have somehow gotten a set of RHD Morettes instead of the correct LHD ones. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to "fix" the beam pattern other than get another set of lights.

That's what I am afraid off. Then my next question would be, will I really blind the on coming traffic? I'd hate to do that. And will cops get on my case?

Thanks for your info!! I wish the person who sold it to me told me about this.

My JDM headlights are also RHD.. it's NOT that bad at all... I've gotten flashed 3 times in a about 2-3 months that I have had these on my car... Look at all the trucks, vans and SUV's that have their headlights HIGHER and pointed completely wrong...

That's how I look at it, so far it hasn't been to bad, on the back roads I personally would rather have the light higher on the driver's side because that where I am looking... I don't really care that much if the light is all the way to the right like normal LHD are.... but that's me :-)

If you're in a heavily populated area you will be blinding people with RHD lights.
It's actually strange that you got a set of RHD Morettes because they are not that common. All of the vendors selling them in the US that I know of carry only the LHD version. If it's at all possible to return them to the person or dealer you bought them from for either a refund or an exchange for LHD ones, I highly suggest you do so.
