Question regarding installation of Tanabe Super Racing Med. Exhaust
I'm hoping to purchase the tanabe super racing medallion catback exhaust today, but would like to know if any welding is required. Could someone that has this exhaust please let me know. Thanks.

Make sure you get the gaskets when you order or otherwise its just one more thing that you will have to track down later on. Also depending on the weight of the exhaust you might want to buy aftermarket hangers like the ones Kartboy used to sell. Mine hung down too much when I got it from the added weight so I had to replace the stock hangers with something else.

Thanks N/A from Maryland, for the post. I'm hoping that the hangers that are on it will be strong enough, being that the Tanabe exhaust is 30% lighter then the stock. I ordered it today from www.afsmotorsports.com. Great deal.

Did you order your exhaust gaskets? I know you can reuse them sometimes but I have never had any luck with reusing the old ones. I always end up with a damn exhaust leak when I try that. Any ideas as to how loud this thing is going to be? I like the way the Apexi looks but I hate how loud it is and some SOB stole my silencer out of mine so I refuse to buy a new one.

I haven't ordered the gaskets yet. I'm probably going to head out to a local car parts store and pick them up. My buddy told me the same thing about reusing them. He's never had any luck with that either, he's got a mustang
As to how loud it is....well people tell me that its one of the louder ones on the market. If you don't like yours, you definately won't like this one. But again it looks great (all stainless steel), and pretty decent power gains from what I hear, and the loudness won't bother me. Now if it gets me in trouble with the law, then I might consider a silencer (which I think it comes with one).

Well I got my exhaust in today! It is freakin sweet! No welding, no additional purchases of any kind because gaskets come with it as well as a silencer. Dude I am stoked. I will be putting it on, on Monday. Doubt I'll be able to sleep though. I'll post some pictures once it is on. Later

hey thats pretty good. I'll have to use that Idea to keep them from stealing mine. Although I don't think I have to worry about that in my town, being that crime is so low, but you never know. I could be saying that, and it gets stolen the day I put it on. I'm going to ride without if for a while though.
