Talking Led Shift Light

Installed a Pivot LED Shifty Light, this thing is great. Hated the big Auto-Meter style, this thing is about hte diameter of your pinky. I mounted it on the steering column across from the stock boost gauge. Covered the wire in yellow wire wrap, had also done this to the boost gauge, it looks good against the yellow dash guage needles. IT connects to a control unit which I mounted in the coin tray. I drilled a small hole in the corner of the tray to run the connector through and installed black foam around the unit to give it more of a flush look. It plugs into the lighter but I spliced into the the lighter wires so all wires are are out of view plus I can plug my cell phone in again. Just rev the car to the desired RPMs and turn the **** on the control unit till the light starts to flash. It also has an adjustment **** for the brightness. Mine flashes blue but other colors are available.

There is a company called Omex, that makes a sequential shift light, like a Formula 1 car would have. I read about it a couple years ago in a British car magazine. It has 4 LEDs that light up one at a time as your revs build. It sounded pretty cool, and was the magazines's top choice in shift lights.

But, never mind all that. I just found one that is cheaper and better looking at race-sport.net .
